This awareness campaign by sexualassaltvoice.com is incredibly powerful without seeming insensitive or aggressive. It portrays situations that nearly anybody could find themselves in; it seems realistic and that is where it draws its stopping power from. They dont have to use violent scenes or too much information. The agenda is simple. “Don’t be that guy”.
The ‘agressors’ don’t seem cartoonishly insistant, and the ‘victims’ dont seem thrown into hysterics. Putting this situation in a realistic setting helps make it more recognizable in the real world. It seems simple. Obviously, the image makers value human rights to choose what is happening with your body. They are leaving out the violence visually associated with sexual assalt, and I feel that is the most striking thing in most of these images.
